From Publishers Weekly
An austere white landscape dramatically frames icy footprints, a blue foil moon and frosty water in If I Were a Polar Bear by Rives. Later, a delicately woven igloo emerges from the earth and, on the final spread, the wintry white bear proudly approaches the North Pole. A die-cut slipcase lets the paw print shine through. Copyright 2001 Cahners Business Information, Inc.

Book Review
In Dorling Kindersley's tested and true style, babies learn to identify parts of the body including the nose, elbow, toes, back, ear, and hair. They also learn what these wonderful body parts can do: sit, play, crawl, make a face, and dance. The five senses are covered ("feel some soft sand"), as well as counting 1 to 5 and 10. Many cute babies and toddlers model their new skills in DK's crisp, fun photos set against a white background. This chunky little board book fits in beautifully with the bestselling preschool learning series that includes My First Word Board Book, My First Animals Board Book, and My First ABC Board Book. The very smallest "readers" will love discovering new vocabulary words as they identify with tots on the page just their size. (Baby to preschool) --Emilie Coulter

Book Review
The Foot Book is a delightful tribute to the diverse and multifaceted world of feet. Not merely a realm of ankles, arches, and toes--as this self-proclaimed "Wacky Book of Opposites" attests--the podiatry province welcomes all kinds: "Slow feet/Quick feet/Well feet/Sick feet." Dr. Seuss has put his best foot forward here, in a whimsical approach to showcasing opposites. Wet feet contrast dry feet, and low feet contrast high feet. Though hot feet and cold feet aren't specifically referenced, we get the sense that those are okay too. As usual, the rhymes are quick and quirky, and Seuss's illustrations will knock kids' socks off. (Baby to preschool)
