Great Railway Bazaar: By Train through Asia ANNOTATION
In this unique and hugely entertaining railway odyssey, Theroux vividly recounts his travels--and the people, places, and landscapes he encountered--on the Orient Express, the Khyber Mail, and the Trans-Siberian Express, through such countries as Turkey, Iran, India, Southeast Asia, Japan, and the Soviet Union.

Listening to this unabridged recording of Therouxᄑs journey on the Orient Express. He conveys the leisurely pace essential to the writerᄑs observations and adventures. The title is not new, and this enhances oneᄑs sense of glimpsing a place in time. What will be particularly interesting to avid listeners is that this narration occured early in Mullerᄑs career. Thereᄑs no mistaking Mullerᄑs expressive, animated style. However, he has matured and taken his craft to higher plane. His style suits the Theroux journey. Muller makes each of his fellow travelers come alive with appealing character. R.F.W. ᄑAudioFile, Portland, Maine
