You Only Live Twice

FROM THE PUBLISHER

When Ernst Stravro Blofeld blasts into eternity the girl whom Bond had married only hours before, the heart, the zest for life, goes out of Bond. Incredibly, 007, the top agent in the Secret Service, has gone to pieces and is on the verge of being a security risk.

FROM THE CRITICS

Library Journal

Released in 1963, 1962, and 1964, respectively, this trio of James Bond adventures brought the spy into the Swingin' Sixties as he was finding a second, more popular life as a screen hero with the 1962 feature film release of Dr. No, starring Sean Connery. Bond on paper is vastly different than on film: there is a lot less dependence on the cool gadgets and technology, and his character is more vulnerable. The books, however, still offer plenty of action and are genuine page-turners. The character's unending popularity will lead fans to the original source material.
