Oxford Surveys on Eukaryotic Genes was established to provide a forum for authoritative reviews of particular genes or gene families. In a rapidly developing field where new findings are published in a vast range of journals, there is a need to draw information together in an accessible format, especially for the non-specialist reader. In this, as in previous volumes, the authors have been carefully chosen to represent the forefront of research.
