The Andy Griffith Show remains one of America's most-watched programs, gaining new fans through its widespread syndication (including a major promotional campaign accompanying its joining TV Land's prime-time line-up in 2000), conventions, and upcoming "behind-the-scenes" television specials. America has embraced the characters of Mayberry---Aunt Bee, Barney Fife, Goober, Opie, and Andy himself---as family members. From Miracle Salves to Kerosene Cucumbers, The Andy Griffith Show has left a lasting impression on our culture, a sweet nostalgic taste for a time gone by.
