After all, he's not about to marry some homely spinster just to claim his rightful title. But Griff didn't reckon on the brazen, voluptuous Rosalind, who could tempt even a saint into sinning--and Griff is no saint. She was determined to unmask him...Rosalind wants no part of the plan to marry her off to her father's wealthy heir--and his man of affairs is even more intolerable! The arrogant man clearly doesn't know his place, but the sparks that fly whenever they're together make her wish he's no mere servant. There's something slightly dangerous--and a little mysterious--about this man...Does she dare to risk her heart to a man whose secrets could destroy that love?

From the Author
I just can't resist writing trilogies! This is the first of my new Swanlea Spinsters Trilogy about three daughters of an earl who find love in the most unexpected places. Rosalind, Helena, and Juliet are giving me a run for my money, but I hope you'll enjoy coming along for the ride!

About the Author
After a patchwork of jobs like technical writing and teaching, I have decided that my favorite job so far (even more than manning the ice cream machine at a summer camp) is novel writing. In novels, I can meddle in people's lives without getting into trouble, and that's what I live for.The rest of the time I enjoy meddling in the lives of my son and my husband, who show their appreciation by sending me back to the computer as much as possible. I also enjoy traveling (either in real-time or on the Internet), reading books by other meddling authors, and going out to dinner or for ice cream (I can't let go of that summer camp job!).

A Dangerous Love

FROM THE PUBLISHER

He was playing a dangerous masquerade...

Griff Knighton's found the perfect way to avoid being trapped into marriage with one of the Earl of Swanlea's daughters: he'll swap identities with his man of affairs during their next visit to Swan Park, and be free to pursue his own desires! After all, he's not about to marry some homely spinster just to claim his rightful title. But Griff didn't reckon on the brazen, voluptuous Rosalind, who could tempt even a saint into sinning—and Griff is no saint.

She was determined to unmask him...

Rosalind wants no part of the plan to marry her off to her father's wealthy heir—and his man of affairs is even more intolerable! The arrogant man clearly doesn't know his place, but the sparks that fly whenever they're together make her wish he's no mere servant. There's something slightly dangerous—and a little mysterious—about this man...

Does she dare to risk her heart to a man whose secrets could destroy that love?

FROM THE CRITICS

Library Journal

Setting out to prove his legitimacy and reclaim his stolen title, Griff Knighton, the wealthy owner of Knighton Trading, gives little thought to the innocent people his actions could destroy. But when he ends up falling in love with the outspoken, independent daughter of the man he is about to ruin, he is forced to confront the real reasons for his obsession. An intriguing premise, a hefty dollop of deceit, nicely chosen literary quotations, and well-drawn but occasionally infuriating characters add interest to this lively historical. It is slow in spots but ties up things quickly and satisfactorily--providing a nice lead-in for the next title in the projected trilogy. Although set in 1815, this sexually explicit, occasionally bawdy romp has a definite Georgian and might appeal to fans of Jo Beverley's "Malloren" series or selected works by Christina Dodd. Jeffries (The Dangerous Lord) also writes under the names of Deborah Martin and Deborah Nichols. Copyright 2000 Cahners Business Information.
