Agent of Change

FROM THE PUBLISHER

Fleeing the scene of his latest mission, Val Con yos'Phelium finds himself saving the life of ex-mercenary Miri Robertson, a young Tarren on the run from interplanetary assassins. Thrown together by circumstances, Val Con and Miri struggle to elude their enemies and stay alive without slaying each other—or surrendering to the unexpected passion that flares between them.

SYNOPSIS

Val Con was an interstellar spy and a master of disguise, with an implanted Loop that calculated the survival odds for each mission--and for his life. Miri was an ex-mercenary, a tough kid from the streets who didn't need a Loop to tell her when her luck was running out.

Neither of them had any use for a partner. Together, they were on the run from both sides of the law. The only thing missing that would make this team unstoppable was ... trust.

FROM THE CRITICS

Jennifer Dunne

Anyone I met who had ever read [the Liaden] books rhapsodized over them. Having finally had the chance to read the books myself, I understand. It isn't so much the plot or the style that elevates these works to such a level of adoration, as it is a unique sense that a window has opened onto another universe to let the reader watch events transpire for the length of the book, at which point the window closes, leaving the reader begging for another glance through the now darkened glass. These are not characters. They are real people, whose lives we have been privileged to share.—SFRomance
