The Old West of the mid-1800s is the backdrop for some good old-fashioned cowboy heroes, and heroines, in this anthology of four romances by Jodi Thomas, Patricia Potter, Emily Carmichael, and Maureen McKade. There's Cooper Adam, whose old-maid sisters have launched a desperate campaign to find a wife for him; Seth Sinclair, whose homecoming from the Civil War is challenged by a young woman with a gun purporting to own his family land. The women don't have it easy, either: Tombstone Tess needs a man, lest her runty brother take over the ranch; Caitlin Brice is forced to call in her former love, Winston Taylor, because he's the only one who can tame her new horse.
