From Literary Times
Philippa of Lindhurst has lived twelve terrible years at the hands of an abusive husband. Now, with no hope of rescue in sight, Philippa meets her half-sister's brother by marriage, Temric FitzHenry. Temric, a bastard son of Lord Graiston has come to bring Philippa to an audience with the bishop. But when Temric realizes it is Philippa who has haunted his dreams, and sees the way she is mistreated by her cruel husband, he devises a plan to make Philippa his. It is a risky and elaborate plan, but when Temric learns that Philippa returns his love he is determined to make her disappear. It is a time of strict morals, however, and both Temric and Pippa know they have sinned and must somehow deal with both their fears of damnation and the fear of Philippa's existence being revealed, thus resulting in her death by her husband hand. The couple's problems mount until they must inevitably result in a battle to the death between Temric and Lord Lindhurst. But before the couple can live in peace, they must still find a way to keep Philippa's existence a secret while still being able to marry with permission from the church! The pace of Summer's Storm is a bit slower than that of the previous Winter's Heat, but the characters are all very well developed and the plot content is unique and engaging enough to keep your interest up from page to page. It is also a pleasure to see some old friends from Winter's Heat and to see how they have fared in the future.Ms. Domning's strength is in her unforgettably real characters! Ms. Domning confirms the notion that she is destined for a non-stop career in the field of medieval romance! Ms. Domning combines the well-thought out plot with the well developed characters of a true professional!Diane Potwin -- Copyright © 1994-97 Literary Times, Inc. All rights reserved

In a world where folk are either common or noble, Temric FitzHenry, bastard of Graistan, is neither and both. Only too late does he meet his equal, Philippa of Lindurst, also a bastard raised to noble expectations; Philippa is already married. When Temric discovers the abuse Philippa endures, his heart demands that he steal her from her husband. As he does so, he promises that she’ll never know pain with him.

Summer's Storm ANNOTATION
The second in a planned quartet of medieval romances. Lady Phillipa of Lindhurst had been a prisoner in her husband's castle since her arrival there as a child bride. His current absence gives her a respite from his cruelty, but her dread of her husband's return pales in comparison to her terror of the handsome knight who suddenly rides into her life to sweep her away. Original.
