This box of 100 postcards is one of three sets based on "The 20th Century Art Book". Two boxes each contain 25 greetings cards and envelopes. The cards are blank inside, and show the best images from the book, with corresponding text from the book on the back. This is the third set, a box of 100 postcards made up of the 50 card images supplemented by 50 others, also showing the most attractive images, with the corresponding text on the back.
Richard Deacon FROM THE PUBLISHER
Richard Deacon has occupied the foreground of British sculpture since the 1980s. His virtuoso constructions in wood or metal range in scale from the domestic to the monumental. Somewhere between aeronautics and anatomy, Deacon's sculptures recall chassis or ribcages. Some loop and curve out across space like three-dimensional drawings, others hover on the floor like great drops of liquid. The forms he creates evoke the material world of everyday artefacts and the inner world of the body, as site of sensuality, of memory and language.
