Children's Literature - Kathleen Karr
Another offering in the "Cultures of the World" series, this volume is not terribly interesting. Undoubtedly, this is because the subject just isn't exotic. Located smack between France, Germany, and Belgium, the country (smaller than Rhode Island) has been at the crossroads of history for its entire existence. Even its language, Luxembourgish, is a mixture of Flemish, German and French. Its high point (before helping to mastermind the European Union) was when Radio Luxembourg played the first Beatles record on the air in 1962-Love Me Do.
