Grenada FROM THE CRITICS
Children's Literature
It is described as an island paradise full of beauty and wonder. The people are full of life and culture abounds. Where is this magical place? How can I get there? We often hear of Grenada because United States soldiers went over there, but where is Grenada and what is it all about? This book presents a wonderful overview of a small island country, its people, customs and its history. Using detailed text interspersed with photographs, maps and illustrations, Guek-Cheng Pang gives the reader a real understanding of Grenada. Supplementing the text are information windows giving the reader greater depth of knowledge in certain areas. Along with the history, the book discusses the economics, arts, religion, climate, and natural resources, as well as Grenada's relationship with the islands surrounding it. Included in the book are maps and a glossary for difficult to understand words. With the amount of information presented in this book, it would be a great addition to any classroom's collection of geographical books. A part of the "Cultures of the World" series. 2000, Marshall Cavendish. Ages 10 up. Reviewer: John D. Orsborn
