Deeply critical of the liberal bourgeois ideology of Malawi's political and economic elites, this work explores the political and economic realities of contemporary Malawi in order to promote a development project that will take into account the ethics and practices historically rooted in the cultural practices of the Malawian people. The author focuses on the political economy as it impacts the everyday lives of people and recommends a policy that centers around the religious concepts of Malawians for alleviating poverty and encouraging political pluralism.
