Rethinking Educational Leadership: Challenging the Conventions SYNOPSIS
This is one of two texts derived from the sixth international research conference of the British Educational Leadership Management and Administration Society (BELMAS), held in Cambridge in March, 2000. Eight chapters are revised papers from the conference, two are reworkings of papers from other BELMAS conferences, and two were prepared specifically for this text. Coverage includes four alternatives to the current conventional theorizing about educational leadership, the application of these four models by six leading researchers to their work on school leadership, the implications of alternative views for professional development, and a closing critique of all the theoretical perspectives.
