About the Author
Stephen Brewer (trips 1, 4, 6, 10, 12–17, 20, and 21) is the author of The Unofficial Guide to England, soon to be published by Wiley. He has written about Italy, Greece, and other parts of the world for Frommer’s and many other guidebooks and magazines, and he has never failed to be amazed by all the wonderful places to enjoy on easy day trips from London.
Donald Olson (“The Best Day Trip Experiences,” “Planning Your Day Trips,” and trips 2, 3, 5, 7–9, 11, 18, 19, and 22–25) is a novelist, playwright, and travel writer. His sixth novel, My Three Husbands (written under the nom de plume Swan Adamson), was published in 2003. Oregon Ghosts, his play based on Oregon’s legendary spirits, premiered in Portland in 2003. His plays have also been produced in London, New York, Amsterdam, and Rotterdam. Donald Olson’s travel stories have appeared in the New York Times, Travel & Leisure, Sunset, National Geographic guides, and many other national publications.
