National Geographic Student Atlas Of The World

FROM THE CRITICS

Children's Literature - Rita Karr

Did you know that the wettest place in the world is Matwsynram, Assam, India with an average rainfall of 467.1 inches? And the driest place in the world is the Atacama Desert, Chile with rainfall barely measurable. This is only a small portion of the information available in the World Facts page at the end of the book. The atlas begins with clear instructions about reading maps and concludes with a comprehensive resource section. Within each section about the seven continents, there is a "Focus On" section which provides additional information to assist the student in becoming a more literate individual. The atlas contains colorful photographs, numerous charts and statistics, facts and figures along with the expected maps. This is a "must have" for both the classroom and the home. Student and adults will find this an invaluable resource.
