Human Resource Management: In-Basket Exercises for School Administrators SYNOPSIS
Tools useful for training and assessing school administrators are presented here, with "in-basket" exercises based on issues and situations encountered in the workplace. Introductory chapters provide background on adult learning theories and on research validating the use of these types of exercises. The exercises, on areas such as recruitment and collective bargaining, take the form of letters and memoranda with student questions. The book can be used in graduate courses in human resource management, and in school district- initiated professional development programs for principals and assistant principals. Baker is professor of educational leadership at Saginaw Valley State University. Doran teaches graduate courses in human resources at Barry University. Annotation c. Book News, Inc.,Portland, OR
