FROM THE CRITICS
KLIATT - Sherri Forgash Ginsberg
This brief biography recounts the young life of the most amazing golf player in the world. He was born on Dec. 30, 1975 and named Eldrick, but right from the beginning his Dad called him Tiger, in honor of a man who had saved his life in Vietnam. Tiger, of mixed heritage that includes African American, Native American and Asian roots, managed to plunge into the nearly all-white world of men's professional golf. He has won four major titles in a row and continues to keep winning at the ripe old age of 27. There are lots of color photographs with the latest from 2001, after Tiger received one of four ESPY awards given him that year. His four citations for Male Athlete of the Year, Pro Golfer of the Year, Championship Performance, and Come From Behind Performance, broke the record of three awards he once shared with Michael Jordan. The writer has an effortless style; golf fans and sports fans in general will enjoy this volume immensely. (Biography)..
