The brilliant color in this book seems to jump right off the page. Glasbrook is a tapestry weaver who exhibits widely and teaches from her studio in Devon, England. While not as detailed as Nancy Harvey's classic Tapestry Weaving: A Comprehensive Study Guide, this introduction to tapestry weaving is an excellent starting point for the beginner, as well as a source of inspiration for the experienced tapestry artist. Using a simple frame loom, she teaches all the basic techniques, illustrating each with small learning projects. A gallery of the author's own works adds to the inspirational value of the book, while the section on mounting and framing tapestries will interest tapestry weavers on all levels. Generally recommended for academic and public library textile collections. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
