About the Author Carl F. Luckey, writer and researcher, produced the Old Fishing Lures & Tackle book, revising and adding to it several times. Clyde Harbin Sr. collaborated with Luckey to create the book and took over after Luckey's death. In fishing circles, Clyde Harbin Sr. is known simply as "The Bassman." He formerly owned one of the largest and most important fishing lure and tackle collections in the world. Harbin, a Southern fishing and collecting legend, has also written Heddon Footprints, a book detailing the history of the Heddon family, and contributed to Luckey's Old Fishing Lures & Tackle. He lives in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.
