FROM THE PUBLISHER

"Finding good audition speeches is not always easy, especially for younger actors. In Audition Speeches for Young Actors 16+ Jean Marlow has selected a wide variety of speeches for the sixteen to eighteen year-old age-group. Extracts are taken from a range of plays including Sheridan's 'The Rivals', Tom Stoppard's 'Arcadia', Shelagh Stephenson's 'Ancient Lights', and Martin McDonagh's 'The Cripple of Inishmaan'." In addition, there is some advice from writers, directors, casting directors, actors and teachers including Alan Ayckbourn, Roland Rees, Vicky Ireland, casting directors Gabrielle Dawes and Anji Carroll, Roger Croucher (President of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts), singing teacher Tona de Brett and Tim Reynolds (Principal of the Academy Drama School).
