Drawing from her experiences as a child growing up in Tanzania and as an Indian-Muslim immigrant to Canada, the author explores the centre of women￯﾿ﾽs space￯﾿ﾽhow women who are nomads, half-castes, immigrants or in love create and define space, place and identity on their own terms and not the terms set out by culture or prejudice.
