Winter Poems from Eagle Pond SYNOPSIS
For nearly twenty years, Donald Hall and his late wife, poet Jane Kenyon, sent Christmas cards with one of Donaldᄑs poems (one year with a poem by Jane). The cards were printed on a letterpress by New Hampshire printer Bill Ewert. These poems have been gathered in Winter Poems from Eagle Pond, together with a short introduction by Hall and woodblock prints by artist Barry Moser.
Published in a limited edition of 700 copies, Winter Poems from Eagle Pond is printed in red and brown on linen paper. The first 300 copies have been numbered by the poet, hand sewn and bound in hand-made paper incorporating maple leaves from Eagle Pond, gathered by Hallᄑs grandchildren. The covers have been printed by letterpress (single sheet impression).

Donald Hall is generally considered the dean of American poetry. He is the author of two dozen volumes of poetry, including The One Day, Without, Museum of Clear Ideas, et al.
