Book Description One city is the Mormon religion. The other city is the Catholic religion. It will do Mormons good to read it, because they may be surprised that a Catholic priest could write this way. Protestants, Jews and those of no faith will find in the booklet a description of two churches whose atmosphere they must breathe. Catholics will learn how to meet many day to day situations as they live with their Mormon friends. Father Taylor assures the reader that he is not attacking Mormonism. He draws clear comparisions between the chief tenents of both faiths. He says that he "states the Mormon viewpoint as honestly as possible, uning Mormon sources." When Father Taylor presents the Catholic view, he speaks as a priest convicned of Vatican II perspectives, and as a "Rocky Mountain Catholic in love with his faith, with no appologies for that." Despite the 'Tale' in the title, this treatise is not a story book. It is easy reading, but it likewise requires concentration and study. The booklet provides good insights into Mormon beliefs, it helps the reader to knowhow to respond to Mormon missionaries; and expecially it gives a good exposition of the Catholic position on some key points of faith.
About the Author Father Taylor was born and raised in the LDS (Mormon) religion. He has great love for the Mormon people and respect for their religion. His one thought in wrting A Tale of Two Cities was to lay the truths of the Catholic Church beside the beliefs of the Mormom religion.
