At the end of his short career, Georges Seurat painted a series of landscapes that focused the energies expressed in his previous work. In the catalogue of an exhibit sponsored by the Indiana Museum of Art, this vital period of development in the artist's life is documented in fine-quality reproductions of the paintings and related materials and lucid prose. Of special interest is the reproduction of a detail from one of the massive canvases, in color and to scale, showing the pointillist brushwork for which Seurat is known.
