Book Description
Travel Back in time to the beginning of the twentieth century and learn the true story of how the teddy bear came to be. Two teddy bears were created at the same time - one in America and one in Germany. Both claim to be the first. After each bear tells his side of the story, it will be up to you to decide: which teddy bear was truly the very first?

About the Author
Kathleen Bart has long been inspired by teddy bears. After receiving her degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, she began her career at Polo Ralph Lauren, where she eventually became Director of Girls Design and Product Development. For ten years, her responsibilities included the design and illustration of children's clothing and teddy bears. She was a major contributor to the design of the popular Polo Bear, a teddy bear outfitted in Polo clothing. She has also served as a design consultant and freelance illustrator for the North American Bear Company. In the course of her research, she became fascinated by the controversy surrounding the creation of the first teddy bear. She discovered a story waiting to be told, and an event to be celebrated. Inspired, she wrote and illustrated A Tale Of Two Teddies, marking her debut in picture books.
