SYNOPSIS

This book is about bears. Bears as they exist in the wild and in our minds. In the night sky, Ursa Major and Minor exist around the world and far back in time. Poets Hayden Carruth, Billy Collins, Mary Crow, Ruth Daigon, Jim Harrison, George Keithley, Galway Kinnell, Maxine Kumin, Ursula LeGuin, Judith Minty, N. Scott Momaday, Mary Oliver, Adrienne Rich, Kay Ryan, Gary Snyder, Susan Terris, and over 100 others appear in this homage to bears. Long may they roam.
