About the Author Paul Meyer is a writer and literary critic. He studied novel writing at the University of Iowa, and in 1995, published his first work of fiction, Herdsboy. Readers asked for more, and in 1996, he started Kulal's Shadow. In 1998, his essay "During a Winter Storm Musing About God" won finalist recognition in the Pacific Northwest Writers Association annual contest. He lives with his wife in Seattle.
