From the Publisher
NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE How are we different from other pet travel guides? In addition to the thousands of pet-friendly places in our book, we focus on places that allow well-behaved dogs of ALL sizes. We don't think well-behaved dogs should be discriminated against just because they are large. We also focus on lodging that allows dog lovers the choice of a non-smoking or smoking room, thereby not restricting pet travelers to "smoking rooms only." Another difference is that we find not just pet-friendly lodging but also what you can do once at your destination spot. In our books you'll find dog-friendly attractions, outdoor restaurants, parks, beaches and stores. And for an easier time on your road trip, we offer Highway Guides with pet-friendly lodging listed by highway or Interstate number and by state. For water loving hounds, our books include Coastal Beach Guides. Compare us to other pet travel books and we think you'll notice the difference!

From the Author
I began finding pet-friendly places out of necessity. I've always loved dogs and loved to travel. But leaving my dog behind was neither enjoyable for me nor my dog. So over 10 years ago I started traveling with my dog, a black standard poodle. But it was hard to find places that allowed dogs, especially a larger dog. Many times I would spend hours of research just to plan a nice weekend or week long getaway which included not just a place to stay but also dog-friendly sights to see, places to dine and green spots where we could get some exercise. Over the years, I compiled (and still continue to research and find) thousands of dog-friendly places and put them into books so all dog lovers can have an easier time finding that special dog-friendly getaway spot without the endless number of hours spent researching. And of course, all of my books focus on places that allow all well-behaved dogs, regardless of size.
