Course Aim
To prepare students for Microsoft exam 70-240: Microsoft Windows 2000 Accelerated Exam for MCPs Certified on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. Until December 31, 2001, individuals who have passed the three Windows NT 4.0 exams (70-067, 70-068, 70-073) have the option of fulfilling part of the core exam requirement by passing Exam 70-240, instead of four of the core exams in the Windows 2000 track.

SYNOPSIS
This course is targeted to anyone interested in the new technologies, features, and architecture of Windows 2000, including
Windows NT support professionals, system architects, integrators, engineers, and administrators who are familiar with
Windows NT 4.0 networks and are planning to adopt Windows 2000. The SmartForce Windows 2000 Update curriculum is
designed to map to Microsoft exam 70-240: Microsoft Windows 2000 Accelerated Exam for MCPs Certified on Microsoft
Windows NT 4.0. This exam is in development and will be released in its live version by July 2000.
Certification Information:
The Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer credential is the premier certification for professionals who analyze the business
requirements for a system architecture, design solutions, deploy, install, and configure architecture components, and troubleshoot
system problems.
The new Microsoft Windows 2000 track is designed for information technology professionals working in a typically complex
computing environment of medium to large organizations. A Windows 2000 MCSE candidate should have at least one year
of experience implementing and administering a network operating system. MCSE candidates in the Windows 2000 track
are required to pass five core exams and two elective exams that provide a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency
and expertise in solution design and implementation. Until December 31, 2001, individuals who have passed the three
Windows NT 4.0 exams (70-067, 70-068, 70-073) have the option of fulfilling part of the core exam requirement by passing
Exam 70-240: Microsoft Windows 2000 Accelerated Exam for MCPs Certified on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 instead of
