FROM THE CRITICS

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot

Another in Umnik's series, this book features lots of projects kids can do themselves. What is very nice, is the use of recyclable materials such as bathroom tissue cores, shoe boxes, thread spools, old greeting cards, fabric scraps and the like. As expected there are tree ornaments, place cards and greeting cards, and several pretty clever crafts such as the Prince of the Kingdom of Sweets, Egg-Carton Carolers, North Pole Express, and the Milk Carton Church. Each craft item is pictured in full color and the required materials and steps are listed. There is also a material index at the end. Great for teachers and kids who enjoy making things.
