From AudioFile
The Joseph Campbell Foundation and HighBridge Audio are collaborating to present 40 hours of never-before-published recordings of lectures on myth and spirituality, which Joseph Campbell gave to diverse audiences. This fourth volume focuses on myth as it is experienced in the rites and symbols of today's world and the personal myths of mankind. It is great to hear Joseph Campbell speak. His fascination with his subject and mastery of it, as well as his enthusiasm and energy, are so present in his sometimes breathless delivery that one has the sense of being in the room with him. The lectures on these tapes were given after Campbell had retired from teaching at Sarah Lawrence. He himself is at a mythic moment and refers to the "dark door" with an honesty and courage that is inspirational. L.R.S. (c) AudioFile, Portland, Maine
