Classics of Buddhism and Zen: The Translated Works of Thomas Cleary, Vol. 3

SYNOPSIS

This is volume 3 of a projected eight-volume set collecting translations published over a 20-year period. It contains The Sutra of Hui-neng, Dream Conversations, Kensho—The Heart of Zen, Rational Zen, and Zen and the Art of Insight. Cleary—a scholar of East Asian languages who has translated over 50 volumes of Buddhist, Taoist, Confucian, and Islamic texts from Sanskrit, Chinese, Japanese, Pali, and Arabic—provides an introduction to each work; and on some he includes an afterword, a glossary, further readings, or other supplementary material.
