From Book News, Inc.
This glossy-paged, color photographed natural history begins with brief descriptions of the various islands, their climate, vegetation, and fauna, and then proceeds to one page per animal, most often with a photo. Provided is the Latin name, distribution, habitat, size, description, biology, distinguishing features, and vivarium care, the last feature indicating that this volume is especially aimed at those wanting to turn these animals into laboratory objects or pets, and on the other side, those in the position of having to rescue and care for them. An appendix lists selected Madagascarian national parks and reserves accompanied by concise descriptions.Book News, Inc.®, Portland, OR
