FROM THE CRITICS
Booknews
A critical, selective, and annotated bibliography for English readers
on the small, landlocked, mountainous kingdom completely surrounded
by South Africa. The focus is on the 20th-century history though some
works describe the period back to the country's founding in the early
19th century. The selection is heavily weighted toward journal
articles because of the lack of full-length treatments. Among the
sections are geology, biographies and autobiographies, women and
gender issues, industry, literature, sports and recreation, and
periodicals. Includes one map. Well indexed.
