Farsi: Rubaiat of Omar Khayyam / Robaiyate Omar Xayyam (In English, Farsi -- in Latin Alphabet, and French) FROM THE PUBLISHER
This book is intended for those who speak and understand Farsi but are not familiar with the Arabic script. It presents a new Farsi script based on Latin.
To provide material for readers to appreciate the new alphabet, the Robai'yat of Omar Khayyam are rendered here in the new Farsi script.
A complete set of Edward FitzGerald's English verses inspired by Khayyam's Robai'yat are also presented for comparison. Each verse is placed with the robai most likely to have inspired it. English speaking readers who are not familiar with the Persian language could also, after studying the phonetic presentation of the new Farsi alphabet, enjoy the ryhmed sound of Persian poetry.
