Book Description This classic work is the rarest book ever written on woodcock hunting by an avid sportsman of the early part of the 20th century. Davis wrote about the woodcock and the turn-of-the-century woodcock gunner in the golden age of wingshooting when woodcock were plentiful. In 1908 he privately printed 100 copies of his book, Woodcock Shooting. He was killed in a hunting accident shortly after the book was published and it is almost impossible to find an original copy. We are proud to publish a new edition of this classic work as one of our special editions. Brett Smith, America's finest hunting artist has developed the color art work and etchings for this book. Kay Evans has graciously provided us with an introduction from her late husband, George Bird Evans. Like our other special editions, this book will be produced in an edition of 1,000 copies on fine acid-free paper, clothbound, and slipcased. Here is your opportunity to own one of the greatest books on woodcock and wingshooting ever written-a cornerstone book in every hunter's library.
