In this new verse translation of Edmond Rostand's classic play Cyrano de Bergerac, Jatinda Verma and Ranjit Bolt have adapted the characters and action to 1930's India: the India of the Raj and also an India beginning to find its feet in defining a modern popular culture. This new version received its world premiere at the Royal National Theatre in October 1995.
