Beading with Right Angle Weave (Beadwork How-To Series)

FROM THE PUBLISHER

Want the RAW truth? Right-Angle Weave, despite its reputation as a difficult method of beadwork, is really quite easy once you learn the basics. Whether you create texture by using wildly different sizes of beads or a smooth, sleek look with seed beads, right-angle weave is delightfully supple and versatile beadwork for flat or sculptural projects. In Beading with Right Angle Weave, author Christine Prussing, a beadwork designer and teacher, demystifies this stitch by comparing both the single- and two-needle methods and illustrating how the needles are manipulated. After mastering the basics, you can create your own beautiful jewelry with 21 projects that include a trendsetting Garnet and Carnelian Necklace, a Bead Lace Jabot (a spectacular piece for a bride), an Italian Coral Necklace and Earrings, and a Sapphire Crystal Bracelet. All projects include easy-to-follow instructions and illustrations for both single- and two-needle techniques. Simple pieces for children or beginning beaders are followed by more complex projects that advanced beaders should find challenging - unique, three-dimensional explorations with cubes, frames, tablets, and boxes. Each project can be modified and personalized in dozens of ways, and the stunning, full-color gallery of masterful work will set you on the right path to designing your own inspiring creations.

Christine Prussing is a beadwork designer and teacher who fell in love with right-angle weave when she discovered it six years ago. She is a regular contributor to Beadwork magazine and her designs have appeared in several books in the Beadwork Creates series, including Necklaces, Beaded Beads, and Beaded Bags (all Interweave Press). She owns The Bead Gallery in Juneau, Alaska, where she has lived for almost thirty years.
