This catalogue accompanies the exhibition at the Dutch Institute for Art History in Florence (September - November 1998) which features a selection of 50 of the most significant sculptures belonging to the Museum Beelden aan Zee, Scheveningen, in Holland. Founded by two Dutch collectors, this fascinating museum was opened to the public in 1994 and houses one of the most interesting collections of contemporary sculpture by international artists. The works exhibited in Florence present a cross-section that faithfully reflects the 'spirit' of the collection with artists such as Tony Cragg, Karel Appel, Igor Mitoraj, Schabracq, Van Pallandt and many others.
