Tideland Maritime Systems (subsidiary of Tideland Signal Corp.) recently won a contract to supply the Port of Corpus Christi, Texas, with a Vessel Traffic Management and Information Service (VTMIS) from Norcontrol IT. The contract is a result of the teaming agreement between Tideland and Norcontrol IT, which commenced in July 2003. The complete system will consist of camera surveillance, two radar tracking systems, an automatic identification system, and a microwavecommunication link. The information will be collected and displayed using the Norcontrol IT VTMIS 5060, which is already in use in major ports around the world.
