Yankees first baseman Jason Giambi will be playing to win tonight's All-Star Game at U.S. Cellular Field.
But Giambi said Monday he would be approaching the game the same way even if the homefield advantage for the World Series wasn't at stake for the first time.
Major League Baseball adopted what many players view as a gimmick following last year's embarrassing 7-7 tie in 11 innings at Milwaukee's Miller Park when both all-star managers ran out of pitchers. The change was made under the assumption it would make the All-Star Game more competitive.
